Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Fastsnap on the web and in our mobile apps (together, the “Service”). Please read these Terms carefully together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Who operates the Service
Fastsnap is provided by Henry Pui Yip Chan, an individual (natural person) in Hong Kong — not through a registered company, partnership, or sole proprietorship. “Fastsnap” is the product name of the Service only; it is not a separate legal entity. When these Terms say “we”, “us”, or “our”, they mean Henry Pui Yip Chan in that personal capacity. Your agreement is with me as an individual.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
3. What Fastsnap does
Fastsnap is an instant meal accountability tool: you upload a photo of a meal and receive coach-style feedback (on-plan / off-plan framing), scores, and estimates — which may include fat-storage risk, insulin spike risk, satiety, fasting impact, macro estimates (Premium), healthier swap suggestions, and goal-specific tips for lose fat (low-carb protocol) or build muscle.
Results are generated using artificial intelligence and rule-based scoring. They are approximate, may be wrong, and can vary for the same meal. The Service is for general informational and educational purposes only.
4. Not medical advice
Fastsnap does not provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice and is not a medical device. Nothing in the Service is a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not use the Service to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. If you have a medical condition, eating disorder, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take medication affected by diet, consult a professional before changing what you eat.
5. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service and to purchase a subscription. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
6. Accounts
You may use the Service with an anonymous session or by signing in with an email magic link. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email secure. If you sign in with email, your scan history and profile can sync across devices linked to that account.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or misused the Service.
7. Free tier and usage limits
Without Premium, scan limits apply on a rolling window (configured in our systems and shown in the app). As of the last update above, typical defaults are: guest (no signed-in account) — 5 scans per 2 hours; free (signed-in, non-Premium) — 12 scans per 24 hours. Limits may change; the scan screen or Profile shows your current allowance. When a limit is reached, wait until the window resets or upgrade to Premium for unlimited scans.
We may apply technical measures (such as rate limits) to protect the Service from abuse or excessive automated use.
8. Premium subscriptions and billing
Web (Stripe). On the web, Premium is sold as a recurring subscription (weekly or yearly) processed by Stripe. Prices, trial length, and included features are shown at checkout. Where a free trial is offered, you will be charged the stated price when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel future renewals through Stripe's billing tools (linked from your receipt or customer portal, where available) or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid or trial period; you retain Premium access until then.
Except where required by applicable law, fees already charged are non-refundable. Taxes may apply depending on your location.
Mobile (iOS). Premium on the iOS app is sold through the Apple App Store and managed via RevenueCat. Apple's terms and billing rules apply; use Restore purchases in the app if you change devices. Web Stripe checkout is separate from App Store billing.
We may change subscription prices or features for new purchases; we will give notice where required by law before changes affect an existing subscription.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of others' rights.
- Upload content you do not have the right to share, or that is illegal, harmful, or explicit.
- Attempt to probe, scrape, reverse-engineer, or overload the Service.
- Circumvent paywalls, quotas, or authentication (including by creating many anonymous accounts).
- Use the Service or its outputs to build a competing product without our written permission.
10. Your content
You retain ownership of photos and other content you submit. You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to operate the Service (for example, to send your meal photo to our analysis providers and return results to you). See our Privacy Policy for how long data is kept.
Do not upload photos containing personal data about other people without their consent, or sensitive information you do not intend to share with our processors.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding, software, and scoring methodology, is owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute it except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT RESULTS ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES.
13. Limitation of liability
Because the Service is offered by me as an individual, any liability under these Terms is personal to Henry Pui Yip Chan, subject to the limits below.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, I AND MY SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
MY TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID ME FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, my liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence where prohibited).
You use the Service and make dietary or health-related decisions at your own risk.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by my fault.
15. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a new version with an updated date. Material changes will apply from the date posted unless otherwise stated. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms.
16. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and me regarding the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. My failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms. If I transfer the Service to another operator (for example, if I later register a company), I may assign these Terms to that successor with notice where required by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
